Hi,
I am creating a simple library checkout system on Microsoft Access and I have done nearly completed it. The system I will be creating will just be a sample and so there are very few users and a little number of books on there.

However, I am struggling as I need to include a function in there which will allow me to use a yes/no check-box to indicate the checking out of a book.

I am unsure of whether this will require me to create a query but I need to be able to create a form to allow me to do this and as this is a very simple system, I am not looking for anything complicated.

I already have a table called ''books taken out'' which includes -
Book ID
Book name
Date of issue
Due date
Checked out to
Return date

As well as this, I have a table with customer details and a separate table with details of all the books in the library.

Please explain more about what you are trying to do. Just trying to figure out a solution I have come up with several things that you might be meaning.

I am creating a library checkout system and in there I am trying to create a very simple function which will allow me to check existing books in/out to customers on the system; allowing any late books that have not been checked in before the due date to be identified by the system and maybe be shown in a report.

So trying to tie this in with your previous post, are you wanting a checkbox that checks the book out?

By the way, your table of books checked out needs to have a field to tell you who checked out the book.
