I was viewing a long code block with some really long lines in it. Since the horizontal scroll bar was WAY of my screen while viewing the line in question, I started fiddling with my mouse buttons (if you don''t have a scroll wheel yet, you are missing out, but center button may work). I clicked the scroll wheel and got a <-> looking gizmo on the screen. Moving the mouse horizontally scrolled the code block (not the whole window)! Try it here:

This method also works with web pages - basically, wherever you click your mouse wheel, this arrow appears and is able to detect which ways you can scroll. For instance, in your code block the arrows went left and right, but I clicked outside of the code box and the arrows let me go up and down. This can be helpful if you''re reading a long article on a page and don''t want to constantly scroll down via keyboard, mouse wheel, or scroll bar - just use this arrow and set it a bit below the arrows to scroll down slowly, yet constantly.
