Please help.. my superior wanted me to create a program that detects a new data entered to the database and that program will automatically perform its function?
Is that possible? I know it's hard to understand what im saying so here's the sample.
sample process:
From web --> the user enters information and submits it.
--> the data will be saved to a database
And from the database..
the vb app --> will detect the new data saved from the database
--> the program itself will fetch the NEWLY saved data from DB
--> then the program alone executes its function (e.g perform calculation)
--> after it executes, the result will be saved to the DB and the user will be able to see the result.
I hope you can understand what my task is. I really need proof that it's impossible IF i'm right.. and if not, i hope you can help me.
What I have tried:
I haven't tried anything because I have no idea about this.
NOTE:
The detection of the new data entered to the database was the ONLY WAY that triggers the vb program, NO buttons or any other controls that holds the function.
