Hello,

I have a Geology SQL Server database with huge information. For geology data entry, we have created a library of the of the geology codes. These codes are case sensitive. But since our database is case insensitive, if the data entry person enter code e.g. Actual codes is "Absa" but if it is entered like absa or ABSA, system will accept it which is creating trouble for us in interpretation. Is it possible to change the Collation of Lithology_Code column of the table only to case sensitive so that it will accept only the codes matching with the library codes. if someone tries to enter absa or ABSA or aBSa it should not accept. Please guide me and help me with a code. I am new user to sql server. Since the existing database has these mix codes, will it make any difference to the existing data and after changing the collation of this column, can I change the existing data as per library codes.
