I'm trying to figure out how does financial software display real-time stock market data? I've been trying to pull data into a winForm listview control and it doesn't seem to work...I see applications displaying 50 or more rolls in realtime within multiple windows and the applications are freezing or displaying unacceptable latency retrieving data.

Can some one please give me some insight on this?
