I'm looking at the title of your question… As POP3 is a protocol, deleting it would be pretty difficult: I can imagine deleting all the standard documents and all related publication from all sources, but causing amnesia in so many people would be a bit difficult. :-)

POP3 protocol is very simple (and, frankly, low quality). You can easily implement it based on TCP, or find some open-source implementation.

Implementation if not very optimal, but it meticulously follows POP3 and MIME standards.
