I get the following error messages when attempting to view the "Automation Script" to save the templates provided by Azure and then edit them. The templates are accessed via most every Azure Resource blade via the "Automation Script" feature (See included image):

Is this a bug, or is there something in my resources that is wrong? Please note, that I have experienced this across 3 different accounts w/ 3 separate subscriptions, so if it is something I've done, I've replicated it many times without knowing I was creating an error prone scenario.

Try exporting from the deployment on the portal instead of the automation section of the resource group on the portal
(e.g., select the resource group, select deployments, select the deployment you want and you can view/download the template from there.)
