Is there an VM instance profile that you can pass the  role information to VM instance when the instance starts?  In AWS, there is something called "IAM instance profile for EC2"

I don't think there is specifically for this, but you can have IAM roles between services.  Can I ask what it is exactly you're trying to achieve with this and I can probably offer further guidance.
