There are two things you can do:

First what you are doing is changing your directory which tell me it was you had to be invited as a guest user. So the tenant you accessed should still have a global admin which is usually the first account set up with onmicrosoft.com UPN suffix. Then just invite your email again and make it global admin. 

If you cannot access this you will have to contact Microsoft and they will have to verify that you have rights. Once that is done they can give you access. 

There is no other way to do this as it is important to keep a tenant secure.
