Sorry if this is not the correct forum category, but this was the most relevant one I could find.

The AI for Good Challenge allows the use of academic papers for project submissions. Could someone please clarify what  the limitations are on this?

A lot of the academic papers speak on the methods to develop the models for Machine Learning. Can I use the strategies that they have described? If so, wouldn't this challenge be largely focused on  applications rather than the idea itself?
