Something new has come up in the last few weeks. Users report that they can't open more than one document of the same type from a document library. So, user is in a document library that has multiple Word documents. User clicks document1.docx, Word pops up and opens the document. User then clicks document2.docx, nothing happens except a slight flicker in the browser like it is refreshing the page or going to "wait" then back to "idle". If the user reloads the page/library view, clicking document2.docx opens the documents, but clicking document3.docx goes back to doing nothing. This is happening across all MS Office apps, PDFs don't seem to be affected. This is affecting numerous users, including me and I'm site admin.

This was reported as having started about 3 weeks ago. No updates to SharePoint have been applied in a while (yes, I'm behind on CUs). No Office updates or IE updates of which I am aware. Users report they haven't made any changes... well, I know I haven't made changes on mine.

The problem doesn't occur with Chrome, but Chrome doesn't save the documents back to the library like IE, so not an option for these shared documents. Edge seems fine, but, Edge has other issues (like opening the lib in Windows Explorer).
