We are running all of our web apps in always on mode, due warmup time has an effect to our business. Although always on is turned on, sites are still getting unloaded and the first requester get all the pain.

Our application type is ASP.NET MVC and runs under Standard / Medium subscription.

Besides Always on, I'm wondering why is it so painful to configure automatic warmup in azure. Let's say i'd like to recycle my site every day at some point plus do auto warmup after recycle.

Note that AlwaysOn feature will try to keep the site running by sending the request to site periodically.   Site could still be unloaded by any other reason (such as site configuration changes).   When you said "site are still getting unloaded", please provide a time frame and time zone - we can try to see what event caused it.
