can i purchase visio, have the on-line version, that keeps crashing. would that resolve the problem?

Visio Online is very lightweight version of actual Visio When Microsoft first released an online version of the Visio diagramming tool, it was just a viewer where you could leave comments. Now, with Visio Online, you can create diagrams and embed them in SharePoint modern team sites, while developers can use the Visio JavaScript APIs to create mashups. But it's certainly not the full desktop feature set.

I am not sure why or when its crashing, may be it could be your browser and its plugins you may have to check. if you are a frequent and heavy user I would suggest you to get desktop version.
