We have a major project where the project contacts list is hosted in a contacts app within a SharePoint site within the company cloud.  This has a variety of email address from the different groups collaborating on the design.  The list here is separate to the site permissions which is controlled from an associated AD server.

Is it possible to create a distribution list within the Contacts app for the contacts listed?  I have enabled the sharing option with outlook however the folder created in outlook is read - only.  This means when I create a distribution list in Outlook it is not replicated or saved back to SharePoint.

How can this be achieved?

It's impossible to add, edit or delete items from SharePoint list via outlook.
