Hi,

This is my first post. I created a report using VS. I added new column (distinct count). At the bottom i want the total. I right clicked in the box, selected Addtotal. In the preview i do not see the total. What else needs to be done.

Hi LordofthePlains,

 

Normally when we right click the field and add total to the field, the sum will automatically pop out. In your case, we suggest:  

 

-          When you right click to "add total", the total cell is blank, you could try to manually add expression in total cell, like =sum(YOUR EXPRESSION IN COLUMN).

-          When the total doesn’t show itself in preview, could you see it in the design view? Please check the visibility property of the total row, make sure it’s shown.

 

If both of these can’t work, could you please post some screenshots of your report or your .rdl file, so we can do some further research on it? Please do mask sensitive data before uploading.
