 I am currently working on implementing instrumentation to have performance counter and know about

 event log for my project.

 i am confused as to which of the two to use :

  1) Microsoft Enterprise Instrumentation Framework (EIF)

  2) Microsoft.Practices.EnterpriseLibrary.Common.Instrumentation

 

 can anyone please help me to understand the difference and which one to use.

I am only answering this as I am doing research for someone and came across your question. EIF is tied to .Net 1.1 and therefore is not supported anymore. Also Microsoft.Practices.EnterpriseLibrary.Common.Instrumentation has been dropped from the Enterprise Application Block in later versions

For future people, these classes are fully supported within the framework now.
