I apologize if this should be posted on the VSTS forum but I couldn't find one.

We are going to be migrating from TFS 2017 Update 2 to VSTS soon. We want to use our own on-premise build servers which serve as XAML build agents and newer task based build agents. I know we have to use a pipeline but what I really want to know is regarding configuring everything.

How to I connect on premise build servers to VSTS? I can't seem to find good info on how to do so.

Support for XAML agents is being removed from VSTS around this time. This is likely why the documentation is very scarce.

I do not know whether this has been activated yet, but it's partially why the documentation has already been removed.

To link a XAML controller to VSTS, if you account still supports it, you need to configure the 2015 Build Controller and point it to the VSTS account instead of the TFS server, this should automatically move the agents to the new location as well. The official docs have been untouched since 2013.
