 I have been all day trying to fix this problem.  (The underlining just happened.)  My laptop won't go into hibernatrion because it is being prevented by this .NET.  It says try stopping it, but I haven't a clue how to do that.  It doesn't seem to be anywhere.  I think it occurred while updates were being installed and something interrupted.

I have been to MS websites all over and downloaded .NET 4.  I can shut down but not go into hybernation which I do by closing the cover on the laptop.  I'm not good at this technical jargon etc.  My email is in the profile if it's ok to use that for a reply.  Thanks Pat

I've never heard of this happening before. Try opening Windows Task Manager (CTRL+ALT+DEL) and clicking on the Processes tab. Look in the description column.
