I am using Windows 7 Pro 64 bit OS and IE 11. I recently installed the latest version of Adobe Flash. I'm not certain if there is a direct correlation. I cannot get MSN videos to play - just a black, blank rectangle with a tiny box that says error2046. KM Player WMP both work, and so do You Tube videos. When I go online I get all sorts of "fixes" for this problem most recommending downloading a program, most of them that fiddle with the registry. I am resisting their siren songs until getting sane advice here, as this forum has never let me down.

go to http://www.microsoft.com/getsilverlight/Get-Started/Install/Default.aspx to test your installation of Silverlight.

Probably you have not done a regular windows update (from IE select Tools>Windows update)

or

You have ActiveX filtering turned on. Look for a blue circle icon with a line through it in the IE Address bar. Click it to toggle ActiveX filtering and Tracking protection options for the domain. (select the Help>Internet Explorer Help menu and search for ActiveX filtering to learn more).
