I am new to Microsoft technologies. I need to build a plugin which intercepts the key strokes of omnibar/address bar.

MSIE浏览器具有地址栏自动完成功能....（Internet选项>内容选项卡>自动填充），类似于Google Omnibar。

you can't intercept the address bar keystrokes... MSIE browsers are hardened against that.... (web search for textInput event handler).

MSIE browsers have address bar autocomplete.... (Internet Options>Content tab>Autocomplete) which is similar to the Google Omnibar.
