I would like to have some file shares on my Windows Embedded Compact 7 device that are available to copy files to / from but I want to have these shares password protected.

I have looked for documentation on this and its not clear at all and there is nothing on Compact 7 specifically.

Could someone specifically tell me what Catalog Items and what Registry settings I need on Compact 7 to provide an O/S that supports this please?

Hi Chris,

I think this information will help. It is from Windows CE 5 but has the details you need.  I think SMB was removed in Compact 2013 but is still available in Compact 7.
