can anyone tell me how to display a picture in the snapped view to prevent the user from using it like the windows store application ,, i have tried to but a picture in a gridview and display it when user switch to snapped view from the visual state manger  but it didnt work like the windows store app because height and width keep changing in different resolutions.

Keep completely distinct panaels for landscape and snap view. These will hold relevant elements inside and visibility of these panals can be set via VisualStateManager.
