Hi,

I'm using Win10 build 10041 and I'm having issues upgrading our driver.  The driver is installed via DIFX API (DriverPackageInstall).

Install version 1 of the driver, all works but interestingly the driver binary in system32/drivers is locked unlike previous OSes.  Is this a change of policy?

Install version 2 of the driver and the version is installed correctly to the driver store but a reboot is required even though nothing is connected to the driver.  We never needed a reboot on earlier OSes but I suspect this is a side-effect of the driver being locked by the OS.  However even when I rebooted I found that version 1 is still installed in system32/drivers?

If I manually stop the driver, so the lock is released, prior to installing version 2 of the driver it works.

I would go to the Windows Insider forums and ask there, plus send in the feedback.  Microsoft in the past urged beta testers not to ask on the regular forums.
