My company is using Communicator and we are very happy with it except one thing. If user is off-line and you are trying to send a meessage it will never be delivered unlike MSN that has this feature. We would like to write a program (script) that will allow us to do that. My questions are:
1. Is it possible?
2. Can it be accomplished with Communicator API? If not that what else can I use?
3. What's the strategey? Is this will be client add script or some sort of script that runs on the server?
4. Did anyone work on something like this before?

We have developed product that compliments OCS. It is an add-on server that intercepts the message on behalf of the recipient.  

When the recipient logs on, it forwards the message to the recipient on behalf of the sender.  An optional read receipt can be forwarded to the sender notifying that the message has been delivered.
