the TFS 2015 environment consists of 2 servers : 1 server with TFS 2015 and SP 2010 Foundation and 1 SQL/RS/AS 2012 server. I cloned TFS on my Win 7 workstation (just TFS no SP/AS/RS since client OS). will be testing custom templates upgrade this is the reason for creating the testing Win 7 workstation TFS. I will be connecting to both our 2015 prod TFS environment for regular admin tasks and to the testing workstation TFS for testing. there will also be a couple developers running the same, connecting to our TFS for regular activity and to my workstation TFS for testing only. for clone creation went through https://www.visualstudio.com/en-us/docs/setup-admin/tfs/admin/move-clone-hardware and disconnected from the original TFS as per the "(Clone option) Reconfigure server IDs and remap databases" as well as "Refresh the data cache on client computers" by using the ClientService Web service (StampWorkitemCache method) against each of the team collections. 
My question is strictly related to "Refresh the data cache on client computers" and especially https://www.visualstudio.com/en-us/docs/setup-admin/tfs/admin/backup/refresh-data-caches since both me(admin) and devs will be connecting once to regular TFS and then to testing TFS (created with backups from 1 month ago) and then back to regular TFS , etc. Please let me know if I have to run:
a. ClientService Web service (StampWorkitemCache method) each time we switch from one environment to the other, and also if I have to run it both on the server AND on the Win 7 clone
b. do we have to "Refresh the Version Control Cache" on each of our workstations both developers and me (from https://www.visualstudio.com/en-us/docs/setup-admin/tfs/admin/backup/refresh-data-caches like tf workspaces /collection:http://FabrikamPrime:8080/tfs/DefaultCollection) each time we switch from one environment to the other.
