Hello, 

I have read on how to add a second domain to the exchange server but non of the articles were a complete instructions.
I have now [e-mail] I have purchase a new domain called xyz.com, and would like to create a new mailbox for something with suffix @xyz.com and have the option for new users to choose which domain would they have.

I have added the new send connector, and added xyz to the accepted domains and created new policy for the current users.

Regarding the DNS, what should I do ? 

I have MX record for abc.local and when I try to create a new MX record, the FQDN is grayed out at abc.local and cannot change.

Hi,

Here is the procedure:

1. Create an authoritative accepted domain for your new domain xyz.com - http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb124911(v=exchg.141).aspx - Create an Accepted Domain.

2. Create email address policy that will configure users from company xyz with email address @xuz.com - http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb125137(v=exchg.141).aspx - Create an E-Mail Address Policy.

3. Create MX record on the external DNS server, with following MX record:

MX xyz.com mail.abc.com

where mail.abc.com should be Internet visible name of your current email server.

You don't need MX record on your internal DNS server.
