Hi,

The simplest steps for complete moving of SharePoint to another server are:

    1-  Install MOSS on the new server
    2-  Create a new Web Application on the new server
    3-  Create a new SiteCollection 
    4-  Install your custom solutions/web parts to the new servers
    5-  Use stsadm tool to make a backup from your old site ex: stsadm –o backup –url http://siteurl/ –filename c:\Temp\backup.bak
    6-  Copy the *.bak file to the new server
    7-  Restore your *.bak file using the command stsadm –o restore –url http://siteurl/ –filename c:\Temp\backup.bak –overwrite
    8-  Do any necessary configurations needed
