Hi,

I'm searching for a feature within microsoft Project but not finding it. I have a team of 3 people currently that needs to work simultaneously on multiple items, though each person has different time amounts that they are available.

One is 50%, 70% and one 80%.

I want to assure that i can auto assign all tasks to these people in a group/team if that concept exists and don't lose time on assigning each one of them.. and more importantly messing up our priorities.

In my opinion the auto planning/leveling is exactly why i use the product and what i need.

Though now Resource allocation is breaking up my plan.

Can somebody explain me if there is an specefic feature that i can use to plan my team independently of who is working on it. And making Microsoft project 2016 aware of the fact that i have 3 persons working simultaneously but not on 100% without assigning each and every person to the tasks?

No, Microsoft Project 2016 does not have the auto planning functionality you seek.  When you can do is to speed up the resource planning process.  Let's suppose you have a team of 3 people who need to work on a series of tasks.  One of the team will work at 50% Units, one at 70% Units, and the third at 80% Units.  Let's suppose you have estimated Durations for 100 tasks and you need to assign these team of three resources to all of the tasks at the Units values I just indicated.  Here is how you could do this quickly:

When you have finished the resource assignment process, you can then set the Max. Units values back to their desired setting in the Resource Sheet view.  Just a thought.  Hope this helps.
