Hi, I have ticked the Vacation admin time category to require approval but it seems that any entries submitted for vacation are automatically approved into resource calendars is this the correct behaviour?

It depends... If the resource is its own timesheet manager, then it is normal: in this case timesheets are automatically approved. And as you might now, administrative lines are sent to the timesheet manager without previous apprval, unlike task updates which must be approved by the status manager.

Thus the first thing to check is wheither or not the resource is its own timesheet manager.
