Is there an official stance / issue in using VSTS agent v2.119.1 with our on-prem instance of TFS 2017 Update 1?

Update 1 shipped with VSTS agent v2.112.0 but it had incredibly slow artifact download times from file shares. Updating to VSTS agent v2.119.1 is improves speeds (we went from 7.5 minutes to download artifacts to 2.5 minutes). We are not quite ready to upgrade to TFS 2017 Update 2, but we are in a position where we can upgrade our agents. Any guidance on this matter would be appreciated.
