Found that the 'search' box on the amazon website does not load/appear with IE10 (Classic or Metro) on the Win8 build. this is on amazon.com or amazon.co.uk making the website completely useless? Going into compatability mode also does not make the box appear?

Have you tried Delete Browsing History option in Internet Explorer?
