We also got an OpenLDAP server which contain the users of our business applications of our organisation. In our case, we also want to give some business users access to the TFS web interface.

My second question; If it is possible to create an interface for TFS in such a way that it consumes from for example an LDAP server. I can imagine that a direct connection between TFS and OpenLDAP won't work. So I was wondering, maybe there is an (C#) interface that TFS uses which you can implement to create an own identity provider?

Active Directory is required in TFS setup as well as configuration. Since OpenLDAP server doesn't have Active Directory, I don't think TFS can work with it.
