Hello !

I am a newbie and started to work on c#, i searched for the timetable software and found FET is the best open source code for time table management and generation.

However i want to convert the complete source code of FET into C# so that i can design my own GUI plus also wanted to add extra functions in it like automatic sms sending on any change in time table, automatic exam datesheet generation etc.

I want all the data to be stored in local sql database in c#.

Please guide me keeping in mind that i studied c, c++ and c# basics in visual studio and dnt have any idea about Linux environment.

Pick a source file and start converting. Not sure what kind of "guide" you want us to give you. Converting from one language to another is a subjective process both in the use of the languages and the experience of the user. I know you vaguely said your experience but no small answer is going to "guide" you through a conversion. You just need to pick somewhere, start converting, and come back with specific problems.

- dont convert from c++ to c# - compile the c++ code to a DLL on Windows, then P/Invoke from c#
