 Hi all:
 The problem occurred in windows server 2003, but I didn't find the category for 2003, thus I posted it here

  I have encountered a problem. I write a program which run in Windows Server 2003, I copy and paste some files to each account’s desktops before they really login(Then after they login, they can see the files).

  But sometimes when accounts login ,they can’t login their accounts ,instead windows server 2003 show a dialog:

" Windows cannot load the locally stored profile. Possible causes of this error include insufficient security rights or a corrupt of local profile. If this problem persists, contact your network administrator" Thus Windows server 2003 create a temp account and users can only login the temp account.

  I think maybe my "ntuser.ini" is corrupt , but I just copy some files to the accounts’ desktop, how can I corrupt this file? And what’s really cause of this problem? How can I solve it?

Hi,

 

There may be many reasons for this  particular behaviour. Here are few I could find out.

 

 

+ Please go through the below link:

 

            There is a bug registered for this issue if you are using Symantec Antivirus.

 

Roaming profiles persist and are not saved correctly through a Terminal Server session to Windows 2003

 

+ Also check the following:

 

·         Check the ProfileImagePath value under the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList\<SID>

·         Verified the actual SID of the problem users using the Name2Sid utility.

·         Some times it happens that you may determine that there are duplicated SID of user accounts.
