For Exchange 2010, I have restored a VSS backup of a mailbox database into a Recovery Database.
The Event Log is clean, the Recovery Database mounts successfully.

Then I try to open the mailbox in the Recovery Database using CDO MAPI with the special flag ("0x10001D").
(This is the flag that tells MAPI to open the mailbox in the recovery database, and not the production database.)
It fails with "MAPI_E_FAILONEPROVIDER".

The same thing happens if I use MFCMAPI.
