I am building a Project Server 2013 workflow using SharePoint Designer 2013. I have assigned the workflow to use the OOB Project Server Workflow Task list and Project Server Workflow History.  Tasks are successfully created, but the Workflow history is always blank if I click "Additional Workflow Data." 

I found one post about activating "Workflows can use app permissions" in PWA.  ( http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/ee861b5a-5080-4fe0-91e1-3edc189cbf40/sharepoint-designer-workflow-attached-to-workflow-history-list?forum=sharepointcustomizationlegacy) I have activated the feature.  Repulished the workflow. I have also tried creating a new task list and history list, but that also didn't save any history.  I have switched it back to the default Project Server tasks and history list, but still nothing. 

As I am running into bugs with the workflow, having the history would be really helpful, but I can't seem to get to it!  Nothing promising or informative in the ULS logs either.  

Has anyone run into this before?  What was the resolution?

I would analyze this issue as below.

1. To ensure the Tasks list

         a.Create the project   b. Click on Additional workflow data    c. Ensure the Internal status as "Started"    d. Then you can find the hyperlink of the tasks list under the tasks section (Ensure you are looking at the correct list)

2. Workflow action

      a. Start a task process-->These users  (Ensure the users have permission to access the list)

      b. Assign a task-->This user (Ensure the user have permission to access the list)

Try to assign to an individual user who has elevated privilege and check the status.
