Hello.

I wrote a stored procedure in an oracle development database, pointed crystal reports to it, added fields,etc and it works just fine.

 

i changed the datasource to a the same exact procedure in an a different instance and it runs just fine in designer.

 

however, when i try to run it with the CR .net viewer, I get:

 

Cannot determine the queries necessary to get data for this report. Error in File Report1005 {92649FF7-BD4F-4175-8D9C-A1165637C843}.rpt: Failed to retrieve data from the database.

Hi Tony,

Doing the below got my reports to work on CR.NET.  We are using Crystal Reports 2008 with native Oracle driver on Visual Studio 2008.

Enable the options “Verify on First Refresh” and ‘Verify Stored Procedures on First Refresh”. These options can be found under the File menu | Report Options. These options are report specific. Reports expect all data to match the schema or database structure they were created with. The above options will often resolve minor schema or structure differences. Note: these depending on the code used and the architecture of your application, these options may cause issues once the database has been verified. It is recommended that if these options resolve your issue, you export the report to rpt file format. Then open the report in the designer and turn off the options.
