I want to create both standard Silverlight applications and LightsSwitch applications with a similar UI.

I want the menus, tabs and command bars to act the same way. Is there any way to use the controls which LightSwitch uses in non-LightSwitch projects? If not does anyone know of controls which at least behave in the same way?

My understanding is that the team have currently decided to NOT make any LS components available for use outside of LS. Whether that will change in the future or not I have no idea. So right now, the answer is no.

I'm not aware of any 3rd party controls that act exactly the same way as the LS control, but you might like to have a look at the Telerik controls, they might have something similar.

To my knowledge they're the only company *actively* providing controls, & support, for LS (of course there *might* be others), at the very least they're the first to do so, so I think they deserve our support wherever feasible. I'm a one-man band developer, so I tend not be able to afford 3rd party controls, so I have no personal experience with them at this point.
