The physical size of an LCD is of no interest to your application, unless you need to show an object on the screen that should be exactly a physical size. Normally all you care about is resolution; number of pixels in width and number of pixels in height. You can have a 4.5 inch 320x240 LCD but that same physical size LCD could also be 800x480 for instance.
