Welcome to the MSDN forum.

As far as I know, the Arduino support on the VS 2017 and VS code, not includes the VS for Mac. Since the VS for Mac help developers to create application using C#, .NET and not support for C++ development, please check this user voice, but the C++ to be installed and we can know it from this extension: Arduino IDE for Visual Studio.

For Mac OS system, we can use the VS Code + Arduino to make them work together, download the Arduino IDE to install, then install this extension.
