First off, Hello, I am complete Project newb and have been working my way through learning this immense application.  I am working with MS Project 2013.  As it stands now I have a project set up to sync with a sharepoint task list. I have my team go to their respective tasks on the sharepoint and update the %complete, which then syncs with my project plan when I open it.  Each task is set up as fixed work.

Here is the problem... When I go to save my project plan and sync it with the sharepoint, many of the %complete values update automatically. (Note this update may be happening when I open the project, I only see the update because I have an audiit/alert on the sharepoint list that sends me an email when anything is changed)  I believe MS Project is calculating this %Complete value but cannot determine on what that calculation is based and cannot seem to find a place to turn off the calculation.

Side note I have other projects set up with the same sync concept but the tasks are fixed duration and the same %complete update is occurring there as well

So, whenever your users change the Dates in SharePoint task list, it prompts MS Project to recalculate the % complete. It could also be from your users directly inputting the % Complete Value.
