Not sure the functionality of the Event sink.

What's the result? You can validate and isolate the not-required Event sinks one-by-one. BTW, AV's also contain their event sinks - to filter incoming/outgoing emails.

FYI: You can try with Exchange Explorer or MFC MAPI to verify whether the Event sink is marked as hidden or not.

Check the Exchange Event viewer and find any related issues captured or not. The best way would be implementing a better custom logging enabled on exhcange event sink and see what's the issue?
