I previously sought help for this issue but I'm starting this new thread to attack it from a different direction.

When I try to work with Microsoft Expression Web 4, I continually get the message: "Too many connections (8) from this IP (421)." According to our webhost, this is because Expression is not closing FTP connections. So every time I open the program, it opens more connections. The only solution the webhost can suggest is to reboot my PC whenever this message appears.

This seems ridiculous. Is there any way to make Expression close the FTP connections? Perhaps upon closing the program? How about a bat command? Anything?

"Every time you open the program it opens more FTP conenctions"?  No, opening EW doesn't open an FTP connection.

You have to be publishing (or, very inadvisedly, editing "live") to open an FTP connection.

And if you are done publishing, just click the "disconnect" button at the top of the publishing pane to shut the connection.
