First of all, I would like to apologize if this isn't the right forum, but I didn't know where else to write this.

I am a little confused as far as the sales tax is concerned. I understand that an online form must be filled when I register as a developer (individual account). After that is there anything more that I have to do? Do I have to sign any other documents in my own country? I am asking this because I really don't want to get caught up in any legal issues :D.

Regarding the tax treaty benefits. Again, are these handled automatically if they apply to my country or do I have to take any additional steps?

This really depends on which country you are in so the answer will vary depending on your country and how the taxes are handled, for example some countries Microsoft will withhold the taxes while others it does not.
