I have a high school detention report that typically fits on one half of a page.  To save paper I have the report using two columns with a new record going on the next column.  The problem is when the report requires more than one half of a page and it starts on the right side of the page going to the next column on the left side of the next piece of paper.

I am currently cutting the report in half and stapling the half sheets that go together that are split up.  It would be helpful if I could put in the footer or header of each column the name of the student that each report is for.  (unfortunately some students have more than a half page of detentions to serve... )

Have you tried "grouping" the report? Maybe you can use a group footer or header instead of a column footer, which I am not sure exist.
