i want to check whether AppFabric Cache server is alive or not using C# coding, how to achieve this? because if its not alive then let me take data from database else read it from Cache Server.

There is no direct API to do it. You could do new DataCacheFactory(), and then if it doesn't succeed, declare the cache as dead.. Depending on your channel timeout values, it could take some time, so you should read data from the database till this decision is made.
