We already have a product with a XPE SP3 image (EWF enabled in Disk overlay mode).
We now plan to use a Compact Flash for the OS and want to keep a HDD for the data.
Is it possible to design an WES 2009 image with EWF enabled in Disk Overlay Mode (the overlay partition would be on a partition in the HDD) ?

Yes. You must have atleast on partition on the HDD and the HDD must be conenct to the system during FBA. FBADLL.DLL will go through each drive in order 0,1,2, and 3 to find enough empty space for the disk overlay.
