Hi,

I am seeing the same problem.

I am updating a contact through Exchange Web Services on Exchange 2007, using a user that has Publishing Editor or Owner rights to the containing folder. If the shape passed into UpdateItem() includes the Email field, EWS returns ErrorItemNotFound. Despite the error, the contact (including the email address) is actually updated.

I have tried this on Exchange 2007 with and without SP1, and it produces the same behavior. EWS returns NoError if the user has Manage All permissions on the mailbox.

I think this may be an interoperability issue with the Recipient Update Service from Exchange 2000/2003 running in the same forest, because it only happens when the shape contains the Email field.
