I tried to make changes to my account this morning.  Before any changes could be made, the system needed to send a text to my phone.  Unfortunately, the phone number stored at Microsoft is an old phone number.  I was able to add my current phone number and delete the old one, but for "security reasons", the Dev Center site told me it would take 30 days for the changes to take affect.  This is absolutely unacceptable.

This new security policy has not been implemented by Windows Phone Dev Center but by the Microsoft Account system. You may encounter the same experience when accessing other site using your Microsoft Account id (such as billing)

If you would like update the phone number in this scenario, please go to account.live.com.

If you are enable to do so or if you are still experiencing the same issue after updating your phone number, please contact the Microsft Account team.
