I have been checking the GitHub samples and I have a general question for an app I want to develop for W10 in a tablet: if I want to use a very specific device (via USB or integrated in the system), for example a custom sensor or communication board, how can I access it?

I've seen this sample for a custom sensor: https://github.com/Microsoft/Windows-universal-samples/tree/master/Samples/CustomSensors
Is it valid for any sensor that I add for my system or the sensor should be recognized/installed in some way previously?
And how it would be in the case of a communications? I see samples for Bluetooth, voice, etc. but not for custom communication boards.

I'd really appreciate a hint on this.
